WHAT IS CHANGE?

Objectives

  • To improve the lives of women, children, ​and youths in Malaysia who can make a step ​forward to improve lives if they receive ​small initial support.
  • To create social impact by conducting a ​series of microgrants over years.

methodology

We offer a small financial aid called ​"microgrant" to NGO/NPOs and social ​enterprises in Malaysia. Awarded grantees ​can use this financial support to conduct ​most effective projects on the ground.

microgrant OVERVIEW

“Small Grants, Big Change”

We believe that even the smallest actions can lead to profound ​transformations. By empowering women, children, and youths in Malaysia, we ​aim to create a ripple effect of positive change that extends beyond the initial ​support.


Through a series of thoughtfully allocated microgrants over the years, we aim to ​foster catalytic social impact.


  • Amount of projects: RM3,000 per project (since 2022)
  • Number of awarded projects: 5 to 10 annually
  • Schedule:
    • September to October | Call for Application
    • End of October | Deadline for application
    • By the end of November | Announcement of results
    • January to June next year | Conduct projects
    • Throughout the project period | Monitor and keep tracking of progress
  • Selection: Decided by our team of founder and two advisers

We invite nonprofits and social enterprises in Malaysia dedicated to creating a lasting ​impact in improving people’s lives to apply for a microgrant up to RM3,000 per project.

Ai Goto

Founder (Volunteer)

Started CHANGE in 2021 as a personal ​philanthropic project. With over 16 ​years of professional experience in ​grant-making and project evaluation, Ai ​brings seeds of change to local ​communities and organisations.

Puan Sri MAimon arif Patail

Adviser

She has an extensive experiences in CSR ​of corporations and supporting community ​activities and social entrepreneurs. She ​advises on selecting partnering ​organisations/grantees and introduce ​necessary networks.

Joanne Mun

Adviser

A Creative Community Advocate focusing on the ​fields of urban rejuvenation, community ​empowerment, and education. She is currently the ​Chairperson of Kebun-Kebun Bangsar, a ​community urban farm in the heart of KL. She ​monitors documents, advises on selecting ​partnering organisations/grantees and improving ​existing projects to maximise the impacts.
